no, got them from home depot. I wanted something like black as a contrast, but all they had was bright brass. the screws came in packs of 4, but the nuts in packs of 6. weird. it's a terribly expensive way to buy stuff like this, but the old hardware stores have all but disappeared.

True :) I'm learning English for 17 years, I hope It's not a waste of time. Movies without subtitles are very useful, cause then we learn the society's context of some phrases. Thank you for a nice talk :)

"You said "you are lusted. I hope these advices". Auto-dictionaries rule :D"
that's very funny. I'm a high school teacher, and the foreign language teachers usually know when students use online translators because the phrasing is often so weird, or the completely wrong word is used.

Jest w porządku. Mam nadzieję, że pomogłem ;)
Some words in Polish have different meanings by a change of 1 letter. That's why Polish is so weird and difficult. Actually sometimes I hate it cause it has no universal translations for some expression.
Thanks for help :)

I understand. Your English is fine, certainly better than my Polish! Old Lowe mentioned in one of his posts that his large cones (23 cm) were 5 thousandths of an inch (.127 mm) in thickness. people also use paint can lids as resonators. Most likely, the thinner the gauge, the better it vibrates.
Wy jesteście pożądani. mam nadzieję te pomoce.

I mean the thing I found in the back yard, not your resonator, I ask for advice :)

Thanks :) I mean I don't know if the material isn't too hard to use as a resonator. The shape is ok, looks like a trash can cover, but the gauge may be too big. Sorry If you can't figure out what I talk about, I'm from Poland and sometimes I don't know some words :)

Pawel,
I did not make the cone. it is spun brass, made by Nation member Old Lowe (http://www.cigarboxnation.com/profile/OldLowe). People make resonators out of all kinds of stuff,
though. tuna cans, cake pans, etc. "Real" aluminum cones can be purchased from several places, including the good folks at backporch mojo (http://shop.backporchmojo.com/Resonator-Cone-Set-BPMCONE.htm) and Old Lowe sells his brass cones (152 mm) from his page and also through Smokehouse guitars (http://smokehouseguitars.com/blognewsroll/?cat=38).

Hey, excuse me for bothering but.. how thick is the metal plate which is the resonator made of? Cause I found a piece of a metal and i wonder if it's thin enough.
