Hi, no its not complete just yet. I am still carving and sanding it. Once I get the final sanding done I think I am going to use a colored  paint (lacquer) I really like the dark black finish similar to ebony so I may go with that.. Good luck i hope you start one too. The only thing i have to warn you about is the LONG hours of shaping, hollowing out and sanding of something like this. Its VERY labor intensive.

because this particular one is made from just 2 pieces of wood sandwiched together after being hollowed out by hand (no router)

Hi Joseph, what kind of finish are you planning mate? Is the other carved one completed yet? You might just have inspired me into having a go at one once this late winter/snow retreats.
