Definitely a hot rod. I have one of these boxes on my bench waiting to be a 3 string. I hope it turns out even close to this nice. Impressive work.

I got the idea of doing a 'hot rod' 4 stringer from seeing this Romeo and Juiliette lacquered box. The sound holes are car vents.
