#47 - My modern-electric-baritone version of the medieval bowed lyre of Scandinavia and Northern Europe. It is tuned CFF, the C being the melody string and the Fs are drones. This will probably change as I try to figure out how to play it.

A very nicely made jouhikka. I've never seen an elecric one before. As you probably aware the melody string is played using the backs of the fingers to select the notes. I built the Shetland version of this (the Gue) a few years ago, and will attest that playing takes some getting used to. The sound is strange and haunting, so I hope that you will post a video so we can hear your C21st version.
