Thanks jojo, sounds like a good place to start with the drop D tuning...I played classical for years (when I was younger) and now back into it, so much info to absorb, lots more info now then back in the 60/70's. Thanks for the feed back about the 4 string, I basically use a circular saw to cut my wood, a drum sander and a wagner T planer. I had a bandsaw butmy brother got at that (he's AFFECTIONATLY know as fknuckle at home..but we love him)..I have no problem with my 5 other sisters...the brothers should have taken up knitting..I must say I try make the instruments out of recycled "stuff". The koala picture came of an old copper art picture plate, there's bolts, tarp grommets, picture framing inside the box, even recycled frets, but thats just my thing for the moment, it will change next week no doubt (lol). thanks again for the reply and yes I will have more questions along the way cheers.

man that is sooo cool!!!! that neck looks professional!! well done!! as for learning how play?? iwhat i have done on my 3 string is taken all i know from playing 6 string guitar.... might not be of any help but a 3 string in Gdg is the same as playing the top 3 strings of a 6 string guitar tuned to drop D. (Dad tuning) so any tabs you can find for a standard guitar in drop D tuning will work even on your 4 string, it will just be higher notes. if theres any help you need give me a bell dude!! there are a lot of youtube vids out there too!! hope that helps

Thanks for the feed back..sounds a bit fuzzy as the copper koala sheet is not flat, its not very loud, so i have a pick up in it, when I get a bit more clever at this I will post noises, lol, as my playing is not so good. I used strings ADGB, and tuned to GDGB, but am still trying to learn how to play, any ideas as to where to start..cheers and thanks again for the feedback.
