I have some thin plexiglass I've been thinking of using as a top on a wooden box. Have no idea how plexiglass would sound but it would be cool to see all the electronics inside I think.

yeah, wondering about the pick-up, if I need to mount it differently or not/ will it work under the bridge attatched to the inside of the lid... I am also thinking of trying just a glass top, or top and back with wood sides. Could make an interesting couple of builds though. I have a buddy that is a plumber and wants me to make him one out of some PVC pipe with some fittings and pipes coming off of it too.

Well you do know that glass doesn`t resonate, but adding electronic`s wouldn`t matter then. Be cool to be able to see the wirring and such though. I once made a build out of a glass punch bowl.

idea in the works... I think the 3/16" glass will be too heavy. Thinking about ordering somed 1/8" tempered glass for the top and back. Gonna keep going on this box though and see what else I can learn from the process.
