Everybody's hands are different, but I tried it once and didn't like it.  Hurt my wrist actually.  I couldn't find a comfortable position for my thumb when fretting.  For pure slide it wasn't bad.  1/2" round over bit was better, but still ended up with a sore wrist sometimes.  As soon as I took a rasp to it and eased it on around a little, no problem.  For me, it doesn't have to be perfectly round, but the rounder the better I say. (no purist)

Yes!, I first started chamfering the necks on my builds with a router as the first step in rounding, and thought why not just leave the chamfer unrounded, which I did and have done for all my many subsequent builds, as you say it's a quick and easy method, and as for playing this type of profile, I personally find no difference wether rounded or chamfered, but no doubt some 'Purists' will disagree!

Like it looks. I seem to notice the profile more than when playing a square neck with eased edges
