Candy Axe

I won't say what it cost because it is debateable what should count and what should not count.

Top to bottom parts and prices

Neck- Axe handle – free damaged head from a mis-strike into a splitting wedge
(wrecked by he who will not be named)

Nut = sheet metal screw left over from downspout repair- $0.10 if counted

Machine head tuner – free off a land fill save

String - left over, so free, but out of a $3.00 pack so you could call it $.50

Candy tin- Free -given back to me from a Christmas gift to my mom.

20 mm piezo – new $1.25 (cost from Gitty in a bag of 12)

standard mono jack $1.23 new -this one on hand - salvaged off a flop build

saddle = sheet metal screw left over from downspout repair -cost new= $0.10 if

2 tiny washers: on hand, but cost new = $0.10

3 wood screws – on hand, but cost new = $0.15

Thanks, Pick.  It will be if I get the jack working better.   Dave, where do you get off calling my stuff cheesey?

It's a cheeze axe. Popular up here in God's country. It's like the cheeze hits the fan. ..... :^)

GS,  I am an electronics dunce.   Plasti Dip (or some other insulator) on the bottom of the tin where the jack is hitting?   Should it be okay that the jack sits on the metal top?

PS:  You've maybe given me a good idea.  I wanted to mark my dad's old hand tools in a way that they my sons will know they were his (and mine) when they someday get them.

Yes.... Plastidip!

Folks, the amped sound is cutting out more than it is working.  Shallow box.  I think the end of the amp cable is hitting the bottom of the metal tin.   Any suggestions for a fix?
