Thanks man....I glued the and screwed the cases together..that's it ...it holds great....i used a piano hinge and cut it to size with a dremel tool cut off wheel...i used cheap white foam from Home Depot and painted it with deck stain, then used a dremel tool to carve the custom pockets...the foam takes quite a while to dry, but will eventually.  I used a walnut stain... i used velcro to hold it shut...works great...to get the lids glued, you have to use a Biscuit Jointer since the lids are so thin.  I used 4 biscuits and epoxy glue.  Very strudy now.  I can't remember the length of the boxes, but the are Opus One boxes.  Hope that helps.

Love the case.  Brilliant.  Where did you get that black padding which you custom fit the slides and harmonicas? 

I am assuming the wine cases are 14 x 20?  Are there any reinforcements the pictures don't show?  Where did you find -- what looks to be -- the perfect length hinge?
