I used a calf skin head from Thinnestman. Tight bond glue and a bandclamp.

Thanks Daniel, thanks Ambrose. I use white glue just around the rim of the pot. Two truck hose band clamps joined to make a big  enough ring to circle the rim. The hide is soaked in warm water about 10 minutes to soften. Layed over the rim, clamp slid over and tightened a little at a time, pulling out the wrinkles as it gets close to tight. Some wrinkles will remain but will disseapear as it dries. It’s magic. Once tight I trim off the hide up to the clamp with a razor blade. The hide cuts pretty easy. I sponge the glue around the rim where it oozed out around the trim line. Dry the head till it has a snappy tone and remove the clamp. I sand the edge after bone dry to take off sharp hide edges.

right, talk about eye candy. the whole shebang. perfect stretching of the skin. i assume it was wet then shrunk? clamp is a nice temporary way to do it! no strings or fixtures.

Coming on real fine Dave.

I call it dust candy AGP. I like looking at it though. The banjo’s coming good. I got a 5$ set of tube watercolor to add some color to the body and neck today. Then tuners to install. Strings tomorrow? :D)
