It was a late night call... well, 6:45 pm. The voice on the other side of the phone said "We can meet at the venue". It was on! A 3 hour trip in the dark and rainy night, and Nashville traffic,,, NASHVILLE! We made it to back door of Grand Ole Opry where a sharp dressed young man told us "Sundance wanted to meet you, but he's about to go back out for his second time". Back out... to that sacred circle. So far from Texas. So far from L.A. and "The Voice" stage that hurled him into the big time, after all, this IS The Grand Ole Opry! We handed "Mr. Punch" off and headed back home, another couple of hours drive in the night. Just 15 minutes later we got the text... "He LOVES IT!" with the picture of Sundance Head (winner of season 11 of NBC's The Voice) backstage at The Grand Ole Opry holding the very instrument I was playing in my shop earlier that day! He was emotional to start with, having just rose to almost instant fame, and now standing on THAT STAGE. We are proud to have commemorated the day with one of our Kentucky Mojo builds. It's probably the ONLY Cigar Box Ukulele to ever have the honor of sitting in a dressing room backstage of The Grand Ole Opry, waiting for it's owner to finish a life changing performance in a life changing circle.
