Lady of the Lake

I got the inspiration for this build from going to the Renaissance Festival in Sterling, NY and realizing that I could have had fun with a CBG as a strolling minstrel. And even more fun with a sword. So I combined the two ideas. The body is just a simple pine box. The neck is the hardwood handle from a child's hoe purchased at a dollar store. The fretboard is a $2 sign picket from a craft store. I dressed up the "hilt" of the sword with a wooden egg attached to the bottom of the neck, a brass hinge for the tailpiece, and a bit of extra wood trimmed from the fretboard carved into a themed bridge. A bit of weathered faux painting to make an aged surface to the scene of Excalibur coming out of the lake. I have since added a rod piezo using a C.B. Gitty pre-wired harness. The three inline tuners are cut from an old 12-string set (I can get four instrument out of a complete set of 12).
