Didley Bow with Bob Harrison Lone Star pick up

Didley Bow with Bob Harrison Lone Star pick up

I'd had this old 1948 cigar box for a while. When I saw Bob's pick up I knew the two were just made for each other!!
I used a broom handle from a broom we've had since we got married (nearly 32 years ago!!) so it has a nice worn in feel...just need to buy a new one now!!
The saddle and bit to hold the nut are also made from the broom handle. Nut and bridge are made from unbleached bone. I made the vol knob, which I'm very proud of : - ) It's the first time I've wired up anything with a volume pot, but that all went ok.
The rivets to stop the string biting in I painted with acrylic paint to made them look old...was going to soak them in vinegar to get the coating off then rust them up, but I was too impatient to wait!!
Really pleased with the look and sound of this...will probably do a video soon : -)

Very nice, great clear pictures &, listening to the video, great sound!!!! Great to see primitive & new tech blending so well together, but when you think about it, that's what they've always done. Love some details on your pick-up.
