AGP #522 – “Yellow Stringybark”
3 String Fretless Guitar
Scale : 609mm / 24inches
Strings : .048NW / .032NW / .022NW /
Tuned: G D g
The Body and Neck are recycled Yellow Stringybark, the Headstock Wings are Spotted Gum, and a 7k P90 Type Pickup is Hardwired to the Output Jack.
The idea behind this build was for me to try yet another different Wood Finish to what I’ve used in the past, this finish is 2 Coats of Boiled Linseed Oil 15 minutes apart, then wiped and left overnight, then given a Coat of Paste Wax, and Buffed 30 minutes later, unfortunately it darkened the lovely light coloured raw sanded finish of the Yellow Stringybark a lot more than I would have liked.

Comment by AGP # on February 13, 2024 at 10:33am: "Thanks UJ", Yep!, I like the Yellow Stringybark Timber, a very common Building Timber down here, a Hardwood, but surprisingly easy to work with, and sands down to nice light colour, it's a bit of a pity the finish I used darkened it quite a bit, I do have a few more bits on hand, so will do another one in the future, but will use a diiferent Wood Finish to try and retain the Light Colour :-)
