View showing how the movable bridge pieces are held in place and the positioning of the height adjustable saddle. The tread on the saddle is very fine (80tpi) for fine adjustment. The saddle is made to lean back slightly to give a better break angle for the strings. The wood under the bridge is coloured black to blend in with the colour of the box. This design allows the strings to be terminated at the tail (unlike most other adjustable designs) but could easily be modified to terminate the strings at the bridge if that was preferred.

Hi Rand.

Thanks for the suggestion. It's not something that I have immediate plans for, but who knows.

All the best.

John

Very nice. Looks like something you could productize and sell to other CBG makers.

Hi Kevin. The saddles are phosphor bronze which is harder than brass and oxidise very slowly. You could use normal machine screws but I already had these and just needed to modify them a bit.

Hi James.

Thanks for the comment. It's my design, although it is inspired by the bridges on the later model Chapman Sticks. I put up loads of photos to show how it was put together including how the piezos are fitted on the underside.

Hi Brian. Thanks for the comment. Acoustically is sounds a bit small. This may be down to several factors. The box is quite small, I have electric strings on it and I may have over braced the lid because of the hole I had to make for the mag. pickup. I always intended it to be played with an amp. Through my amp (which is my computer) it sound like everything I had hoped and a bit more. The combination of humbucker and double piezo is very controllable. I love it.
