The fretboard wood on the far right is called Zebra Wood - not sure if there is another name for it. Yeah, John's furniture is really cool stuff - all custom made mostly for specific settings.

Beautiful, I've not heard of Wenge before. Some very nice (expensive looking!) furniture too - very Art Deco stuff. Quite a talent...

It's Wenge - we have a friend who makes very high end art furniture, and sends us some really beautiful left overs for our fret boards - really beautiful and expensive stuff

A scroll saw and a lot of experience - my partner Ron Larson is a 2 time grammy ward winning graphic artist and a highly skilled cigar box guitar f-hole cutter.  :)
