3 String Bourbon Build (biscuit, not whiskey!)

The Bourbon was introduced in 1910 (originally under the name Creola) by the Bermondsey biscuit company Peek Freans, of London, originator of the Garibaldi biscuit.
I loved the look of this giant Bourbon tin and thought it would be fun to make into a guitar...didn't expect it to sound so good!!
These are still available from M&S for about a fiver. They are selling on eBay for much more...and with no biscuits in??!!
My husband Dave spotted them. He also got a Custard Cream one which he is planning to use to make his first guitar when he can find the time. They'd be great to play together : -)

yeah definitely...this dark gloomy weather has taught me something : -)

It did make a warm, nice light.  Worth the effort.  And worth repeating in the future.

thanks John. It was a really dark cloudy day so I got a work lamp and put that on...it look too harsh and bright, so I hung some greaseproof paper in front. It was the unbleached kind that is brownish so I thought it might not work well, but it gave a lovely warm light : -)

That photo should be framed.  Would also make a good album cover or maybe a secondary photo.

You should get a giant mug (if such a thing exists) to use as an amp.

Nice one.

But it would give me a craving every time I played it.

Sales of Bourbons and Nescafe would sky-rocket.

thanks, yeah we have a custard cream tin too.

My husband has become infected with this whole guitar making thing. He came home one day with a custard cream tin saying that when he saw it he immediately thought of it as a guitar, lol! He's going to make that one when he gets time....

Nice touch with the tea and biscuits, though I think you're going to need a bigger mug to dunk the big one. I love the concept too! Don't suppose you have a custard cream?
