I hope the new owner appreciates how lucky he is. This is a really lovely looking instrument.

i carved this tasmanian devil head in this lovely piece of Tassie blackwood sometime in 2010.  It sat abandoned for a couple of years in my pile of half finished necks until i volunteered to send a build to Afghanistan for Dianne S's group over here.  Unfortunately in his time in storage this devil lost part of an ear, presumably in a fight over mates or territory. This was to be a cookie tin but it was such a nice plank i decided to do a stick.  The pilot I got hooked up with chose cedar for a top and back, and he wanted a pickup so I had my work cut out for me.  In the end I only had 11mm clearance for the pickup, but i managed to pull it off with only 7 !  I know I know, elmar's done em thinner, but be fair he's from an engineering people, and he's a genius :)

also made a gig bag from half a pair of old jeans

the extra little knob on the side was to cover a crack in the side, but it also makes a nice notch for the knee to play it while seated.  I really like it and am gonna do another stick with those on both sides real soon.

i already did a vid with this thing unplugged, i'll get another with it amplified before i send it off.  I am rather sorry to part with this one, its real nice
