English food and drink!

Ah, toast with bacon drippings. Black pudding. Haggis (OK, that's not English). Jugged hare (The US may have unleashed MacDonald's on the world, but if they hung their meet for a week before serving, they'd get sued). Bovril. Marmite. Whatney's Red Barrel.

I lived over there 35 years ago, and I see things today in your average Waitrose that I would have KILLED for back then. My Mom would scold me (she'd gotten married in just post-war England) "You have no idea how bad it was under rationing!"

Today if I'm dining in London, I just go to Brick Lane or Leicester Sq. I developed a taste for good Indian cooking hard to please here in the US. 

As for British Beer, I'm a devotee of Michael Jackson (the British one, of course!) The Campaign for Real Ale has turned 40; I've been a supporter for 35 years.
