Bristol Blue -  we've had pretty decent turnouts at all the previous editions of Boxstock, from memory, on the occasions when we held it in West Brom and Manchester, around 150  people, not massive, but enough to make it lively, interesting and financially viable. As I alluded to, I think this forum isn't the force it was, certainly as far as  the UK is concerned. I don't want to denigrate this forum, because it has been a real force for promoting this part of the roots music scene, but as with all things, there is a natural ebb and flow, and at the moment I see  that people are doing their own thing individually, whether making or playing, rather than as a movement. It's just the way it is. When I got into this there were hardly any other people making cigar box guitars in the UK, you could literally count them on the fingers of both hands - now eBay is flooded with every man and his dog trying to carve out a little bit of the market for themselves. It's bound to alter the dynamics of the scene.

Another observation that I have to make is that the interest in cigar box guitars is still very strong, but my view is based on dealing with people face to face at gigs, festivals, workshops, shows, tours etc. as well as through a computer screen. The online thing is still vital to to the scene, but it is just a virtual presence, an avenue of communication, it's not really where the action is.

People do it or don't it. Simple. If I get a date (soon so I can book a holiday) with a place (so i can make arrangements) then I will meet with those of the same mind. It's about that time things might change.

Hey Keith 66 , like it how you mentioned the A13 , as anyone approaching your region from just about anywhere will enjoy the M25 first ;-)

Map sounds like a good idea, but where is it?

I only do a build occasionally, & go widdly widdly on the guitars only occasionally. (Can't really call it playing!)

Probably not much use to the group, but I'd still like to pin my location.
