Thanks David but I think this is just a one off so I won't join the baritone club sure something will turn up.

Hi Jim,
That is a longer scale than I have used so anything I add would be best guess. There is a baritone group http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/baritoneguitarcbg?groupUrl=bari... but there hasn't been much posted on it. The bass group http://www.cigarboxnation.com/group/cigarboxbasses has a discussion on short scale necks that may be of use. Personally I would post on the Main forum (building secrets, tips, advice part) this has more traffic so you will get a quicker reply from someone who has one or has built one.

Hi David
Yes, strigs personal choice
Ta for sharing your own favs :) my usual choice, d'adario phosphor bronze 11's or 12s, but hear good things about elixir too. Framus have just bought great old guitar. Decided to buy D'addario Wound strings, 12s, as framus small butSTURDY guitar, so 12s ok

Wound strings bright enuf but mellow too. ROTOSOUND was another choice, to try to keep original 1960'ssound of guitar

Re videos: yes , ah have lpts mew ones up past few months
Vaych ua later David, man :)

Welcome back Jim.

Hi Jamie - I hope you are well.  What strings did you decide on?  I think the lack of responses are due to the choice being such a personal thing.

I like the sound a set of 12s make, but my fingers hate the tension and go on strike. I now use 10s but as any guitar I own ends up getting a magnetic pick up/ piezo with preamp or both added I stick to electric strings.  I recently tried the silk and steel strings which felt nice to the touch and sounded good but they rusted quicker than any other ones I have used.  Elixir electric ones sound good to my ears.  Then again I am tone deaf ;o)

Have you been making some new songs for us to watch or listen to?

Regards,

David L.

Advice needed, guys. Bought an old (but in  great nick), Framus Texan (ma dream guitar when ah was a young boy). Very mellow sound, love it. Think Adario Phospour Bronze (my usual choice re strings) may not  be right for her, Phosphour Bronze "WOUND" " strings maybe? Any suggestions. Want to keep mellow tone, but not at expense of treble strings etc. Cheers :)
