Last night I got it trouble for stinking up the house when I sprayed a CB in my workroom.

So, today I decided to treat my family and myself to a small parts spray booth.  Here's the cost break down.

$ 13 ... bathroom ventilation fan

$ 10 ... 4x8 sheet of 3/4" chipboard

$ 8 ... flexible dryer vent hose

$ 5 ... misc. adhesive, screws, fittings and DUCK TAPE

This was a simple project that took less than 2 hours to complete....  Here's the real trick, buy whatever you are going use for the cabinet at a "big box store" (in this case Lowes) that offers free cutting.

I had the 4X8 sheet cut into 4 - 4X2 panels.... then I had one of the 4X2 panels cut into 2 panels 24" x 23 1/4"... Thus, when I got home from the store, the entire cabinet was ready for assembly.

Assembly Directions

1.  Affix the two side panels (24" X 23 1/4") to the back panel

                  (use any of the 4X2 panels).

2.  Affix the bottom panel(use any of the 4X2 panels) to the back and

                  side assembly

3.  Affix the top (the remaining 4X2 panel) to the assemble competed in step 2.

4.  Install the bathroom vent fan in the top of the completed cabinet.

5.  Wire the fan (I used a surplus extension cord that I got for 50 cents)

6.  If you want add plastic sheets to narrow the opening (this improves the venting action) and to close the opening after the you're done spraying the piece you're working on.

Below is a sequence picture of the build....

the last pic is of a successful first use.  I'm preping a cigar box for a gold/yellow sunburst build... and not fumes in the workroom, much less the adjoining familyroom.

It's nice to be able to work a project without the "high" from the fumes...

the best,

I like it.
Very nice, where do you duct the fumes, out a window?

This is a basement workroom in the area of an unfinished bathroom... so... there was a vent already in the foundation at that location.... a little flexible ducting and it was ready to use...

the best,

Sam

((Out the windew????? I live Kansas OK? not the Ozarks))
