Just to clarify, the red and black wires soldered onto where the trim pot was are the same ones that go to the 10K pot shown in the photo.

I do! Here is a pic that shows where the wires go. Basically you pop off the small on-board trim pot and solder on leads. I use the Bourns 10KOhm linear taper pots (which I also sell) and they work great. Hope this helps!

thank you Ben,  i thought that the white wire was pos but i thought i would ask someone first , now i can get strated on my build

Timothy, whenever you have a case where you have one insulated wire and one unshielded/bare wire coming from a pickup, you can be pretty sure that the insulated wire is the positive. As for shielding inside the box, I'd first try installing the pickup(s) and trying it attached to an amp before sealing the box, to see if it is necessary.

i just got a matched pair of humbuckers from cb gitty and the wires come from the pups in one black wire, then at the end split into one white and wire thats not wrapped in plastic, who knows which one is pos, and neg.  and should i sheld the inside of the box and what should i use and where can i get it,  please help

Thanks for the info., yea, I will not be using nylon strings, am planning on submitting a build for the challenge at Handmade Music Club. There you can see the acoustic I want to bring back to life. My goal is to have a Big Joe Williams inspired 9 string.

Lonman , as long as it is not a nylon stringer , mag pick ups only work with steel strings . the only other snag i could foresee (besides feedback) would be the spacing of the pick ups poles , but ... any way you could measure that all up first ? it isnt absolutely necessary (at all)  but a preamp wouldn't hurt .... i'd prolly build one into a pedal or candy tin . either way i would try it out w/ some gaff tape before ya cut / drill anything .

I am wanting to put a pick up in the soundhole of an acoustic guitar. Does anyone see why I would not be able to use this pick up from CG Gitty if it would be long enough across to mount?
