Help please with my idea

Ok this is the Idea -:

On my next build I'm wanting to use a coil pickup and a piezo

( nothing new there I hear you say)

But what I want to do is have both coil pickup and piezo on different phone jacks

so you have 2 separate jacks for each pick up. which means you can plug your guitar up to 2 amps with 2 different effects at the same time.

But I also want to be able to combine both pickups coil and piezo as well via a switch to one phone jack is this possible ?

Now I'm not that up on electrics and to tell you the truth this is going to be fun getting may head round the wiring so any help pros n cons etc would be really grateful

I've found it works surprisingly well. Several people told me there was no point mixing a piezo and a mag pickup but I've found it gives a tone that's different to either on their own (although there's a debate to be had about exactly why that is). However the ability to mix mag and piezo pickups was an added bonus and wasn't the main point of this build. I've more work still to do to see whether it really will work as an "infinite" guitar.

i`ll post a few photos when ive built the guitar and let you know how i got on

if u saw my doubleneck entry, i did exactly this, using a dpdt switching jack for the second one, when its not in use that pickup is routed to the other output. dead easy. pm me if u want help.

alternatively u can use a trs stereo jack and make some Y cables, i do this too. a regular mono cable will short the ring to the sleeve, cancelling out one pickup, a simple toggle can flip which one...
