This could be git related or not. So, what's on your workbench at the moment?

I have 4 scarf joint necks in different stages of work.

A 25" scale pine 5 string neck for a Banjo-Res, A 25" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Strat-Res build, A 24 & 1/2" scale Red Oak neck for my 6 string Double Cut Tele build and a 27" scale 6 string Baritone Conversion neck for a Modern Strat body I have.

57 this year and not ashamed of it... lol

same here, 57 this yr

You 2 guys are old. Haha 54 this year for me.

Just turned 54 last week meself

Happy belated Birthday. I got 5 months to go, so I'm still 53.

Will it print Carbon Fiber level products? or basic plastic grade products?

you need a special print nozzle for carbon fibre due to the abrasiveness of it. this is a cheap PLA/ABS printer. i think you guys can get it from Amazon for about $130. mine cost me $177 AUD

Not a bad price. I wouldn't want ABS plastic for guitar parts, but Carbon Fiber would make good necks.

you wont be 3D printing a neck. not in one piece anyway. not unless you pay a 3D print shop to do it.  my printer has a build volume of 220mm x 220mm x 240mm

thats about 8 1/2" square and 9 1/2" high..

could print custom pot knobs..lol or tone hole covers.

Yes, I would need a bigger printer. You could make carbon fiber nuts and bridges if you got the nozzles for it.

You could make a lot of decorative pieces to add to your gits with the printer you have though. Have fun making bits and be sure to show us the things you make from time to time.

Have to repair a few hammer dents in the fretboard. The dents are unavoidable when hammering in frets, which is why it's best to press them in. However, I'm not setup to press them in and the Jesco brand fret wire seems to give me the most problems installing for some reason.

Anyway, I'll tell you how to fix these hammer dents for those that don't know how. You lay a wet paper towel over the dent and place a hot clothes iron on top and apply steam. This will inject heat and moisture into the wood and raise the dent back to the surface. Works best on small dents and on wood that doesn't have a hard outer finish coating like Tru-Oil or Poly. Deep dents will raise up some and at least look better.

Now it's on to filing the frets. yay :(
