UPRIGHT BASS IN THE UK

HI,

I have just completed my first CBG, and made a passable attempt, it even plays!

I am getting ambitious for my next project and want to build an upright BASS.  Does anyone know of some rough plans to get me started, with details of scale and string choice etc.  

I plan on playing it with my Ukulele group, always need a Bass :-)

Any help and or experience greatly appreciated
