I think i have enough cigar boxes for now, every time I got to the cigar store I buy at least 2 sometimes 3, just a habit, they look so cool. Just need to start building, been so hot here 100+ degrees that I haven't been able to get in my workshop (has no A/C).

He he he, you think thats something.............

I have thinned out my collection to about 200 currently, but more just seem to keep coming home with me. Old and unusual ones especially. Its just part of the adventure.

Last fall I was at an estate sale looking around. All junk in every direction. My wife picked up a few odds and ends but I was getting bored. Then I walked into this barn workshop and some hope returned. I looked around, some wood planes with broken sole plates, some rusty old saws, junk. A bunch of old rusty hardware, nothing. Then I turned around.

Five shelves about six feet wide, all full of VERY old cigar boxes used to organize and store odds and ends. Priced per box for the contents. I made an offer for the boxes "keep the contents" and chose all the useable ones and took home four big shopping bags full of old dry cedar boxes. Mostly all on the small side for CBG's, but still a great find.

You have some nice ones there, but not nearly enough.  Start supplementing with cookie tins and then you are getting somewhere.  :)

lol....thanks guys.  Yea I have a hard time not buying 5 or so every week at the store....but my wife would kill me if I did.....so i limit it to 2 or 3 ...hahaha

Looks familiar.  My current build uses a La Aroma box like the one in this picture, and I have been very pleased with the Brick House.  I think my next build will be with one of those skinny, square Arturo boxes, since I have several of them.

I don't see one of those Montecristo Reserve Negra boxes you were talking about.

That's a good start. I don't have anywhere near the 200 Mark has, but I just keep accumulating them. Once my friends found out I was on the hunt for boxes, suddenly I have 6 people finding, saving, or bringing them to me. Not pictured below are the 20 Punch black boxes one guy gave me out of his garage, or the half dozen boxes that are too small or otherwise unsuitable for guitar making. I line those with different colors of felt and give them to my grand daughters and friends to use as trinket boxes. I think, all in all, I've bought 6 boxes - the rest come from friends and other sources who just give them to me.

If you have a few cigar shops in your area do what i did, make the stores their very own build with the shops name painted on the neck. I did that for the 3 cigar shops in my area and i get free boxes for life. It`s a win win trade .

That is a awesome idea. Plus I have two places I get my boxes from local so this would be perfect. I'm going to try this. Thanks!!!!
