The rod has a piece of surgical tubing on it and is attached to the brass top plate by a threaded bolt which can be tighten by a wing nut. The rod goes under the strings and then when tightened against the brass plate acts like a capo. I`m sure something like that can be used on a Lowebowe. I myself am build a 6 string lap steel and will be designing something simalar to it for my instrument.
