Slide top cigar box question
A neighbor gave me a slide top cigar box. Just wondering how I'd go about cutting out the holes and connecting the neck. It would be great to hear if anyone has done this or opinions. Lol. Of course there will be opinions!!!

notch out the neck slots , cut an access hole in the back , glue the top in. make cover plate for back .
or - use the back as the top , and the sliding door as an access .

As for the sound hole, I use a hole saw...
For the notches in the box, I use a coping saw...
The neck is relatively easy. Notch the box to receive the neck. use wood screws to secure the neck. On a few of my projects, I added material under the neck, then drilled two pilot holes through the backside of the instrument so the neck could be secured to the box with screws. Just remember to leave 1/16" space between the top df the neck and the underside of the box, to allow the top of the box to vibrate.
