Just finished a new build with a smaller box, a 3-string fretted with a rod piezo pickup in the bridge. Tuned Aea. It sounds fine acoustically, however, when I put it through my cigar box amp the high e string is much louder than the other two strings. Do I have a bad rod piezo, or what? Maybe I just need to keep a preamp handy.

Thanks for the advice and the compliment. The stranders are actually part of the stand it is sitting on. I'm going to look into cable piezos.

Hi Michael, as Wayfinder says, but also a flat Botton to saddle is a must Saddle must have very good contact with piezo, also the material used for saddle can effect sound.oh and the surface the saddle sits on has to be flat also. Hope this helps too.
Cheers Taff

Thanks. All is okay on that score.
