Hello. I made CBG where I put a PIEZZO of CBGitty with volume knob (Disc-o-Tone Standard). It worked perfectly when I tested it by receiving, but once installed, it makes noise especially when the volume is turned off and I do not know why. Is anyone could help me ???

I also had this problem of noise when I tried to make myself my piezos but it will be another topic. Thanks in advance for the help !!

I had a bad guitar cable do this to me...

I thought of this but from CBGitty, it does not seem possible.

The electrical system of the house is good. For twisting of the piezo cable, it's possible because I had to redo a weld. The noise was there before anyway.

Yeah I'd go w/ cable if it was clean before.I built one for a buddy and he called me up asking why it wouldnt play,or when did was buzzy. He came over w/ the cbg,and it sounded great thru my setup, well, good!lol

I sent him home w/ a new cable and bang,he's back in business.

Also theres really no ground wire, and piezos arent "expensive" pu's.I know there a some companies make expensive ones, but that ruins it for me.As much I can build for zero $,the better.

On different tip,I bought a new dano convertible,so cool, has a piezo under the bridge inside and the lipstick pu in the small soundhole. The clean is crystal.

Thank you for the post! Can you give me good advice (plans) for mounting a piezo good (even with a volume knob)?

IDK.

Its like solder the very left tab to the middle of the pot. Then come in w/ the PU,1 hot(red)to the farthest, black to top of the pot.Pre solder it best you can.

1 hole left on the pot, middle wire, red,to the input jack.Other black wire to middle of the pot.

I wire my own,and usually they are plug and play.

I have done some electrics, but too much time.Thats for my solid body electrics.

I probably gave you wrong directions,if you have any problems msg me.I'll pull one of mine apart and double check it.

Good luck, have fun and keep it GBG!!!

Mounting,I do it under(inside the box)the bridge. With just thin double sided tape.I just use those cheap piezos.

Sometimes you can get feedback noise in the box, I put a piece of tape over the top of the piezo to stop the feedback.

Fluorescent lights and the ballasts that control them can be big problems with piezos too.

The lights already make a low buzz under normal operation that can create RF noise/problems. When the bulbs get old or the ballasts start going, the problems get worse.
