My first post to CBN - My name is Jeff and I reside is Missoula, Montana.  I've been building electric guitars for a while and am starting on my first cigar box design. I have a couple of questions I'm sure many of you can help with.  My main interest is a three string version this time.

Do you typically radius the fretboard?  If so, does this affect using a slide?  I have no experience with this.  It a flat FB better or is there even much difference when you only have three strings?

Any advice on magnetic pickups?  I usually build telecaster type guitars and have experience with those type of pickups.  Is it common to use a pickup designed for six strings?  Has anybody wound a telecaster neck type pickup with only three poles?

Hi Jeff,

Jeff from Massachusetts here. I have been building these for about a year and a half. I actually just finished my first magnetic pickup gitty and would love to pick your brain on mags. I make three stringers and do not use a truss rod or radius my fret boards. As for a box, I found my local wine store also sells cigars and they give the boxes away. You just have to get there on the right day. Good luck and enjoy your new obsession!!!!

I am a newbie so don't have much advice but wanted to say that is gorgeous work....
