hi- I need help understanding the scale of my freshly built CBG. I am tuned EBE, "open E", I guess.

Is it the case that I actually have 3 E's, on each of the E strings?

I am using my tuner and getting 2nd octave E at the point where I am about an inch or so from the body of the CBG. Does that sound normal?

I am having a blast learning how to build these things!

Will post a new vid soon!

Simple music theory - pluck an unfretted string, you get the fundamental note. Halve the length of the string (by fretting if for example), and you get the octave. Halve that distance again, and you get the next octave, repeat until you run out of space!! In theory you have an infinite number of E notes on an E string, but in practice, most guitars just have 2 octaves fretted, some lapsteels have 3 octaves marked.
Thanks for the reply!
