Hi Tim, Happy New Year to you and yours. And to all other members. Thanks for the kind words. I don't know about me keeping the forum alive. I mainly respond to other members' questions or comments if they are lucky enough to have them appear. Yes, you are correct, if members don't ask questions or discuss their work, then those with answers or suggestions don't respond, which is a downhill slide.

I have not built a CBG for a long, long time, I'm still in the workshop but building other instruments.

This post of yours has had 23ish views, but none of them would appear to be regular contributors, as if they were one would think they would have reciprocated. But there is still time.

I have always thought that this site is too fragmented, with many members posting on specific interest groups, instead of one big healthy forum. Some have not been used in years.

Thats enough...

i agree, this is the only forum i have ever been a part of that uses this software/format. 

The fact that visual mode hasnt worked for over 3 years is testament to how much the owners value this forum.

Yes, this is creaky, archaic software.  It may well be that upgrading to something newer/better would lose the old posts.  These days, this site is mostly an archive, a very helpful archive.

I wish I had found this site back in the day when it was really rockin'.  I have spent many hours reading, researching, & learning here. 

It may not be very active any more, but I hope it stays here for a long time.

you should have been around when we were trying tio reverse engineer the Alumitone pickups.

so much activity it was hard to keep up with it. different ideas flowing and 6 or 7 different versions being tested.. those were the days.

Except one of the main contributiors had a falling out with someone and left the site. Somehow he deleted ALL of his content when he left... had to resurect some of it from the internet archive/wayback machine.  it got quiet after he left and has been slower and slower ever since. shame as there is a whole lot of great info here if you have the time and patience to search for it.

Hi Tim, I regularly visit another guitar forum that uses the same format/provider, and it has always worked perfectly. Admittedly it has far, far fewer groups. It too has fewer contributions than earlier.

Happy new year all. I'm new to posting but have been a member of the site for a few years. I've found it a valuable resource even if I have only one half build under my belt (I used a neck from a cbg I bought years ago but never played). I hope we can rekindle a bit of interest.

Hi Nomad Jack, I won't welcome you to the forum because you have been here a long time, let's say congratulations for making your first post. I think others in your situation could help change things around. Post something.

Many contributions come from members when a question is asked, but not much action otherwise. I see hundreds of views on a topic and only three comments at times.

I mainly only go to the forum, the only photos I see are the ones that flick past as I navigate to my area of interest. Pictures of builds are nice, but seeing the build process and reading about the builder's journey, is what I enjoy.

Maybe it's easier to post in photos than on the forum, there's nothing worse than writing an in-depth story with photos, only to have it disappear from the site when posted.

Hello All.

I admit to not posting for some time, in fact not logging in - just checking to see if anything of interest and moving on. I did post in building my 3rd build, which i had not yet shared. Hope it posts OK.

This site has been a wealth of knowledge for a newbie like me, so I'll try to do my bit to help keep it going.
