From oil to sawdust. Creating a new workspace.
Well, after 20 odd years of doing house maintenance and house projects in the carport, I like to keep my workshop for guitars only, and carting tools back and forth, I finally have a dedicated place to do this type of work. I converted the bike shed to dual purpose.
I sold my Harley, after twenty-five years, and in its place, using half the shed as I still have a motorbike to store, I put in a window and a woodwork bench. I also stocked it up with tools I do not need for guitar work. You can see the Harley anchor point still in the floor in front of the bench.
The whole project cost me about $35 mainly for ¾” MDF for the top and eighty 2” screws. I had wondered how screws would stand up to the job instead of bolts, well I can report the bench is as solid as a rock and cannot be moved by leaning, pushing or working on it. Its 2.4m x 700mm.
I had been collecting pallet timber for a while and storing it so that it stayed flat. The window came out of the lounge room in the house about fifteen years ago, you cannot rush these things. All in a week’s work, along with other things.

Cheers Taff.

Hi Nicola, Love to read your comments, but this site is broken in places. A good tip is to always check that your post appears, then you have 15 minutes to go back and repost using HTML. I

It's a pain but the problem has been there for over a year and frequent users still get caught out. It must be an expensive fix.

That's a nice work space... a dog also helps.
