try it on a small piece of scrap wood, get back to us and let us know if it work.

Thanks for response. Did do a test and seemed fine. Always trusting the mechanical though, I scored the end section with a small triangular file. The dots are not going anywhere. They look great.

I have never used any adhesive on the side fret dots.  I just drill about a 1/4" hole and drive them in.  Cut them off nearly flush and then sand flush.  They don't fall out.  Use superglue if you want.

Wayfinder:  I like your wood glue idea.  Then again, why not use that toothpic as the dot?  If you have dark wood fretboard.
