This is my first real build (everything before it were partscaster Strats). It is my Diddley Bow Canjo and its tunring 4 years old soon. It started out as a tin and a broom handle I got from my charity shop, some spare parts and some scrap wood. it originally had 3 strings and was tuned EAD (I didn't know anything about open or alternative tunings then) and now it only has the E string left tuned to F. This is it when I built it, I really can't show you what it is like now as it is obscene.

Not yet finished and still work in progress. The strings are much to hight due to the design of the cigar box, so i´ve to change this. The pickup is in place but i´ve had not the right bolts to fasten it.

real nice job on the Ashton

Nice stuff everyone

My first build

This is a retirement present for a friend

box and neck are Victorian mountain ash, fret board is W.A. Karri (Australian hard woods), 24.75 scale length

Hope he likes it

are those two speakers Gary? looking nice.

Thanks Timothy,

No they are the stainless steel perforated lids from a pair of teabag strainers

to cover the sound holes.

2 "first builds" 45 yrs apart.  Banjo lam. rim 7 woods. neck maple lam w/tiger eye markers.  lost the tip of thumb ignoring inner voice saying don't do this way trying to fit tone ring on router table.  guitar is walnut, oak & sycamore made early 2017 before I started using cigar boxes.

Nice looking build, reminds me of a flaming SG.

Finished my first build 2 weeks ago. It is a Padron box Crow Inspired neck outside made of Poplar with an oak veneer on the head and 9mm shell casings for fret markers.
