I am thinking of modeling up a carbon fiber fretboard, or maybe a whole neck. Any wisdom to add out there? I have done CF work several times with custom car mods. I am in the middle of my first CBG build and cannot do it w/o going crazy. What can I say, it's just my style. I just bought 25 cigar boxes. If I can get it mocked up with some help here I will offer free mold rental(auto parts store style). You pay cost and get your money back upon return. I know of a few acoustic guitars that use CF fretboards so it can be done.

I've seen a whole acoustic guitar made of carbon fibre, body and neck.
I have seen it done, but we don;t want cf splinters. It would need a very hard laminate. I am thinking of molding in the fret wire too.

Anybody want to loan me a fretted neck to mold? I promise you'll get it back.

I have done this before with car body parts in CF and FG, no musical instruments though.
