Besides mailing tape is there an easily obtainable substance I could use for a banjo head that does not include animal skin. I was hoping to make it myself. Any help is appreciated. Thanks

Wow Richard that almost looks like it was made for a banjo. Sure I would say love to check it out. The reason I didn't want animal skin was that sometime it can be humid here and real skins can loosen up with the moisture.

Does look like it was made for us Banjo Luthier wannabees huh? lol

here ya go ---> tanbourine

currently out of stock on the 12", but he has from 4" up to 10", most people use a 10", I wanted a 12", but that will be pretty large. You can always message them to see when the 12 will be back in stock if you want one that large, there are others on eBay, but most are a lot more expensive and have the symbols in them.

Shipping in the ad is crazy, but I got mine in 13 days

i actually added a drop of hotglue on the back skin and stretched a small spring to the  tam wood to add some  reso  to this one  .  and yes .. thats an oven drip sheet  in there  too ;-) ;-)

 reused the  cymbols too

OMG I can't stop smiling. So cool!! :) Richard, Erasmo, Anonymous you have all made my day! :)

That's cool, pick. Definitely a banjo, but absolutely a swamp witch.

I call it a  "goat skin reso"  has more of a  reso sound imho . Reso was the plan/ aim  all along  anyway . maybe i'm in male ego denial  ;-)

Reso or banjo that is flipping cool

thank you , glad you like it .

Hey pick I'm lookin at your re-use of the cymbals. I'm not sure what that is I'm lookin at but.....if you added a thin top to that you could make an African thumb piano and really whail on it especially if it was in a pentatonic scale.

Yeah , it's just a" tamborine" .. without the tam ,  a jangle smasher if you will . i added some beer caps  for mojo points ..  you can click on the picture to see the full image  .

i agree , it  still has more potential

Once again, pick, you're the man!

you're too kind Jim ;-)
