4-String Neck Width

Hello, I'm about to start building my first CBG, and I don't know what width the neck should be for a 4-string guitar. Can anyone help me out?

A standard 1x2 from the home improvement store will be just fine for a 4 stringer. I use 5mm spacing for the outer strings to the edge of the neck, and 9mm spacing for the interior strings.

Dan's answer is spot on, but maybe once you've got a few builds under your belt try a taper. My 4 string necks taper from 42mm at the widest part to 30mm at the nut. 8mm string spacing at the nut and 12mm at the bridge.
