- How did you learn about Cigar Box Nation?

- How many instruments have you built so far?
- (Original posting watch me "evolve") Zero, I'm more of a "buyer", I own 10 CBG type instruments so far, seven 3 strings, one 4 string, and two diddley bows. But, I'm not afraid to screw on some box corners, strap buttons, or solder a jack if I have to. (Update as of 10/17) I just finished build #16, I ended up buying a few more and then I started building them myself.
- What do you find most interesting about cigar box guitars? (If you do not enter something meaningful here (at least one sentence long), your membership may be rejected as a spam/bot fake account).
- Well, there's the tone and the look for starters. As a player, I like that the instrument is accessible and relatively easy to get started on, although it is in no way easier to master than any other instrument. As a lifelong bass player, I like the fact that the string spacing of a three string CBG is very similar to what I'm used to, which makes it possible for me to play with my fingers instead of with a pick. And....most meaningful of all. My daughter, who has been constantly surrounded by music and musician's,and has had full access to a recording studio full of a wide variety of musical instruments, for 14 plus years and counting, saw my first CBG, grabbed it, and is now learning an instrument for the first time. I had to get her one of her own so I could get mine back. That's pretty "meaningful" to me.
