Can't get the piezo to pick up any sound.

This is my first attempt at a CBG. I am almost finished.  I put a piezo on the underside of the neck located under the bridge. It will not pick up any sound. The piezo works. I've tapped on it. I am getting a loud hum when I plug into an amp. Can anyone give me any guidance. Thanks.

If it's a piezo connected to a jack, there's not too much that can go wrong. Check for wires reversed at the jack, wire disconnected from the piezo, bad jack, possibly bad cord.
