I've used 20mm, 27mm and 50mm piezos under the lid, and 20mm encased in the wooden bridge right under the saddle.  To be honest, I can't tell the difference, but then again, I'm tone deaf.

I'm going to use an old Western Electric telephone speaker on my next build.

Hi, Im Alex and I sell these things on ebay. I like the wood encased piezos. The tone isnt QUITE as good as piezos without the wooden case (the difference is pretty small) but the wood block really helps the guitar avoid feedback when using distortion. I prefer the wooden blocks. If you want me to make a few circuits for you without the wooden block, I could give you a little discount. Heres the two products I sell:

Alex, I put all my piezos in a wood bridge with the saddle laying on top. I tried in the box and I find the top mount gives me the best sound, loudness and resists feedback.

if i use  piezo i bury in a block of softwood, i prefer cedar, which i have plenty of..   i think it softens the tinny top end on piezos and tames them a little.   even just gluing it in a little sandwich between the little bits you cut out of the box for the neck slots helps a lot

Hey Alex, I just looked up my buying history on Ebay and the Piezo I have I got from you. I hooked it up and it works fine. I'm stocked up for a while but will be sure to look you up when i need more. Thanks!

I checked pis of yours out too Michael and like the idea of putting it on top of the soundboard instead of under the lid. I may try that setup with some parts I have already. Thanks for the input guys.
