It does look great doesn't it. There's no reason I couldn't do it with a fretted neck. The issue for me is that I bind them to hide shoddy work. I guess I could have the balls to expose the fretboard sides and take a little more care.

For my first build I used nails, but two builds ago I came up with this: Since I currently only build fretless and only use paint to purdy stuff up, extending the paintjob like half a cm on the player side works like a charm. Just thought I'd share=)

I don't.

To be honest i find the big blocks of colour on the fret board enough. But that's probably due to my wonky playing style :). I know some players wouldn't be without them.

It's something i'm pondering now for the next builds but i'm hesitant in case i ruin the fretboard.

I bind the fretboard with modelling strip wood to hide my dodgy fretting so i'll probably experiment with a strip of binding and see what i can come up with.

@anonymous pick: Thank you!

@Estone Villan: Thank you. The dots are purely aestethic, just not painted in.

So I noticed you're doing the full colour fretboard aswell. Very nice! Just out of curiosity, how do you mark the, err, "player side" of the neck?

The dots in your fretboard are interesting. I hadn't thought about doing something like that when I stain my fret markers. You've given me something to think about on the next build. I really like that idea
