I'm suprized at the lack of activity in here. I thought this would be one of the busiest groups. So anyway, my latest build is from wood saved from the trash trucks grip. Over 100 yr old black…Continue

I seriously thought that this would be a more active group. After all there is so much "treasure" thrown out everyday! Anyway I recently found boxes of old brass plumbing fixtures in a storage unit I…Continue

I find some of the best stuff while out walking the dogs. Here are pics from this morning. 10 heart shaped ring drawer pulls. Nice and strong. Antique looking hammered finish. You'll be seeing these…Continue

Hey Paul, there should be enough there for a couple of Kalimbas too.
One of my neighbors threw a leaf rake away, the kind that has the thin tines. Looks like I'll be testing the Uke Echo Device soon.
That turned out very nice.
Now it works.. Damn the internet!!
OK so I found that little child's guitar.. Popped an old sprayed black ( but scratched and chipped ) dog bowl Into it, brass hinge and cupboard door handle. That's it.
From an old dead toy into a dogbowl ukulele in less than two hours.
A gift for an old guitarist to beat on. I might decorate it a bit but it's fine as it is.
I'll just post them in the photos section
Why is it that half the time it gives the opportunity to post a photo in here only half the time or once in a blue moon?
Too many cartoons way
That'll work too. Haha
Nope. I cut a large hole in the soundboard, drop a dogbowl in it, restruct the inside, change the nut for four string 10mm spacing. Should be about 13mm across the bowl, pop in a strat type bridge to sit on the bowl. (If I can get it to fit) drop a strat pup and piezo blend mixer into it...
Boom! Hybrid dog bowl concert Ukulele!
That bridge has 2 little screws under the white dots. Take the screws out and use a large putty knife to finish removing the bridge from the top. Then glue and screw it back on and your done. That's what I had to do to one that I got for my Grandson.
