And RTZ nailed it.  I've been listening to a lot of Tommy Emmanuel lately.  His advice is to honor the melody and fill in the rest with the picking.  All the notes are there on a 3 string. You just gotta find them.

Thanks everybody.  I hesitated to post this for a minute, and then I reminded myself that this was the Nation and everything would be just fine. And you folks didn't disappoint!

Anything can be done on a 3 string if you tune it right.

Tommy "Turtle" Emmanuel very nice dude its not easy to condense a song like this to 3 string but you put a small light in the subterranean tunnel that keep some of us from trying. Warts happen
