Professional recording

Well, after playing several open mic events and a couple of local festivals, I was asked to perform on the acoustic stage at a record companies launch night.

A few weeks later the owner of the company Robert Harrison of Long Haired Music in Spilsby, Lincolnshire saw me in Lincoln and asked if he could record my playing. This would be…

Free music downloads from Uncle Gus! His poor follow-through is your gain!

Last fall, I announced I was going to make my first full-length album and put it up for download at Bandcamp.com for the sum of one United States Dollar.

I got about two-thirds done with this digital record when our family suffered a loss (I wrote about it here back in January). I basically took a couple months off from writing and recording to recover.

This left me with seven completed tracks, and the original rush of energy lost to the ether. So I've decided to put those…

Free CBG Music Download: "Hot Corn Pone" single by Uncle Gus

Got another couple tunes finished and uploaded for your listening and downloading pleasure.

"Hot Corn Pone" is a harumphin', clankin' studio creation with two homemade guitars, bass, vocals and ice bucket percussion. The B-side, "Thievin' Blues," is a live track from the open mic I played a couple weeks ago. Some of the intonation may be a trifle approximate, but the energy of the room is pure fun.

Download both tracks absolutely free (Bad credit? No credit? No cash?…

Thank You

Just want to say that I really like Cigar Box Nation. I am an inexperienced builder and I've received allot of help from many different members. Everyone I've talked to wants to help and have good ideas. I have never built an instrument or even played one before and through finding this website I have a renewed interest in woodworking and a desire to learn how to play music. I just wanted to say thanks Nation for all your help. I am glad that I am apart of… Continue
