Mailing boxes for CBG's

Since I have enough CBGs around, I send most of the ones I make to other people, not a lot, but some.  I have sent them as for as Italy, to Oklahoma and now have one that goes to southern Texas. I have looked for boxes the right size for mailing, but they want me to buy 25-50 of them at a time for more money than I want to spend.  I think it would be a great idea if you guys at CBN would offer mailing boxes for sale.  Something like a 38 x 6 x 10 would work great for me, and sell them one to…

New album, with Cigar Box Guitars used of every track! Have a listen and let me know what you think...

You can hear the album HERE

Cigar box guitars made by me were used on every song.

I also made most of the drums and percussion instruments, plus some Native American Flutes. (On trk 2, one made from some garden cane is used, and on trk 6, one made from black bamboo)

The only bought instruments are a cheap old children's glockenspiel, a harmonica, an Irish Whistle (on…

Cigar box amp. I had this idea for a long time. So long that I started to notice that some other CBG hobbyists started to make them. The guitar amplifiers made from the cigar boxes for cigar box guitars. Check it out…

Pickin one note at a time.

Don't really play anything (yet), but saw a video of a CBG and have started making one.

In the mean time I have tuned a Ukulele to the open G (GDgB) and picked out the Chorus to Casey Jones (Grateful Dead).

Help out and give us the rest or the full Tab for it if you'd like.

Starting up CBG Club/Workshop St. Louis MO. FORUM

I know most of you live nowhere near this area however your ideas to inspire are welcome. I've created a forum for this club/topic here on the nation. As we grow, there will be a Facebook page and web site link to focus club info. This is a golden opportunity to take building and playing CBG's out and into the community on a monthly bases. I plan on sharing all I've learned and meet new friends in person while lounging inside a awesome Blues embossed environment drinking lrg ice teas. The…

This changes things

I listen to CBG on YouTube and CBN at work. It appears others Eaves Drop on my music. A co-worker comes into my office to "Chill" occassionally and he really likes the music. I like the old delta blues and just CBG blues in general. He likes the music where the notes are crisp and sharp.

I'd mentioned I had built two CBGs. He asked me one day if I build "those guitars". I replied "Yes".

He asked what did I get out of them. I said $75.00 unfretted and $100.00 fretted. Of course…

Building the Delta Box CBG

The Delta Box will be a Crocker production instrument.  I'm creating all the templates, jigs, components and hardware so I can assemble many of these at a time.  The complete opposite of what I usually do.

My first CBG / Joya De Nicaragua

The neck and fretboard are made of mahogany. I made the neck with dual-action truss rod. Fretboard has 15' radius.    Nut is made of moosebone, The bridge/pickup is Ted Crocker flatbed combo customized by me. I removed the original brass bridge and replaced it with customized…

vintage boxes?

a friend told me about a flea market that had some cigar boxes....stopped in and scored a couple of nice ones, but the lagniappe box I picked up i think is vintage, but I'm not really sure. It has a 'Jockey Club' logo embossed on the top and front side. There is also a logo with a horse in it that says 'The Winner'. Anyone know anything about this particular box? It's not all that big, but I think it would make a fine ukulele. I'll try to get a picture of it and post it up so that may help.… Continue
