Piezo Question

On one of the plans given here, it suggests sandwiching the piezo between two thin pieces of wood. What does this do? Sorry if this has been covered before.

Fret Question

If I have a CBG with a fretted neck, why couldn't I just use it for a template to make another neck as long as they are the same scale?

"You could probably leave the plastic cover on if you wanted to, but it might change the sound a bit. Experiment and see what happens. "

"I put mine between wood and put it on the outside of the box, then i put my bridge piece ( brass rod, threaded bolt, key or whatever) on top of this. It makes a great pickup with less feedback and is very reponsive."
