Wood filler?

Sawdust mixed with wood glue
Thank you..what glue is good so it's not to hard to scrap off later? I like the sawdust and glue idea...
This all great information I really like the salt idea...

When filling in gaps ( I plan on a bit of Elmer's or tightbond? and sawdust)
Just HOW do you apply it? I'm thinking a hard edge plastic card or a toothpick...thing is I don't want spread glue/sawdust on anywhere but in the gap...shows up when staining etc
Thanks Wayfinder ...what glue do you use?
